- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
- 1 head of lettuce, leaves separated
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: chopped green onions, sesame seeds, sriracha
Instructions:
- Press the tofu: Place the block of tofu between two plates with a heavy object on top to press out excess water for about 30 minutes.
- Prepare the filling: In a skillet, heat some oil over medium heat and add the diced onion. Cook until translucent, then add the minced garlic and grated ginger.
- Add the chopped mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their moisture and start to brown.
- Crumble the pressed tofu into the skillet and mix well with the vegetables.
- Season the filling with soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
