Mushroom and Beef Stir-Fry

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the beef slices and stir-fry until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Heat the remaining 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in the same skillet.
  4. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
  5. Add the mushrooms and bell pepper, and cook until softened.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sugar, and beef broth.
  7. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the vegetables.
  8. Add the beef back into the skillet and stir to combine.
  9. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  10. Serve hot over steamed rice.
